GERRARD WANTS DARREN FLETCHER

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has identified Darren Fletcher as one of his experienced targets this summer, as per reports. Since Stoke City have been relegated to the lower league, the player is looking to exit the club.

The 34-year old recently moved on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion to Stoke City. But with Stoke going down, Rangers have been reportedly to be on the chase for his signature.Ibrox see the player as an ideal player to boost their options due to his wealth of experience playing at a top level.

Fletcher Remains Calm Despite Chaos In Club

Fans of Manchester United were thrilled to see David Moyes being sacked after an awful season as the Scottish manger could never gain support for the fanatics of the Premier League. Louis van Gaal was the man selected to restore the pride and turn Manchester United into the club that they were some years ago but the Dutch coach has only been picking up disappointing results so far.

Losing against Swansea City and some week’s later drawing against Sunderland and Burnley is not the way that supporters of Manchester United wanted to see their club kick-start the season but the vice-captain of the club, Darren Fletcher remains calm about everything that is going around in Manchester United as he veteran midfielder told the media that players need time to get accustomed to the playing style of a new coach.

Darren Fletcher spoke and revealed some details concerning the condition of Manchester United as he told reporters: “The players are learning a new system and developing ideas. It is going to make us better players in the long term. These things take time and we just have to keep believing in the manager’s philosophy and ideas. There are other things that come into it, it’s not just the system, but I am confident we will put things right.”

Manchester United’s summer transfer window has seen the Premier League club spending over €120 million which is the estimated total of cash that was offloaded in order to sign: Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind, Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw.

All of these new additions to the squad are expected to kick-start the season for Manchester United and start picking up positive results. Darren Fletcher is confident that his club and teammates will indeed be able to accomplish that and flourish under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal but they only need time to get accustomed to all of these recent changes.

Morata Future Remains Uncertain

As each season passes along the future of Alvaro Morata keeps on remaining uncertain as the young product of the Spanish club has only been able on making 37 league appearances for Real Madrid since 2010 when he was promoted to the senior squad.

Arsenal is desperate to land Morata as they have been trying to sign him for the past couple of transfer windows but things can take a huge turn if the young attacker decides to leave the club and join a team where his chances of performing are higher.

With players such as C.Ronaldo, Karin Benzema and Gareth Bale all leading the attacking department of Real Madrid, it does not seem like Morata’s chances of playing a pivotal role in the Santiago Bernabeu will arrive anytime soon and making a switch to Arsenal could give a boost to his career.

Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck has emerged as a target of Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian manager of Real Madrid is believed to have been impressed by the versatility of Welbeck and could launch an offer for him just in case Alvaro Morata does make his way to Arsenal.

Ancelotti would not want to cut down his attacking options and with the possible departure of Morata from the club could see Danny Welbeck turn into a viable summer target for Real Madrid.

If Danny Welbeck does arrive to the Santiago Bernabeu he is being viewed as a quality back-up option whenever Carlo Ancelotti needs him in case of an injury of anything of that matter while Alvaro Morata will be given the chance to fulfill his potential in a club where he can get into the first team.

FLETCHER UNSURE

Throughout his entire playing career Darren Fletcher has never went through a season out of Old Trafford with Manchester United but even though the Scottish midfielder does not have experience being transferred from club to club on loan spells, Fletcher still acknowledges the importance of the loan system.

“You see some of the lads go out and come back while others go and thrive. It sets you up for playing against men. All due respect to the Under-21s but it’s just a step up from the youth team really. It’s not like back in the day when you played against men and older players. It’s about going out to compete against men in matches that means something, whether that’s staying in the league, chasing play-off places or even the other players have got contracts to fight for by staying in the league.”

“That side of things is important. They will see a lot of things in the dressing room, like arguments, which will make them into men. They need that so, when they come back, they walk differently, and are more comfortable around the first-team players. Hence, they’re more comfortable when they train with the first team.”

With all of the recent changes that Manchester United is going through Fletcher also voiced his opinion about Ryan Giggs making his way into the managerial staff of United and the Scottish backed him up.

After David Moyes was sacked from his position in the Premier League club, Giggs was appointed as the interim manager of United which he did reasonably well and even with the arrival of Louis van Gaal to Old Trafford, Giggs will still maintain an influential spot in the club as he is going to be the assistant manager of the club.

“Ryan has done a fantastic job. He is made for management; you’ve seen that in these last few weeks. He’s a winner, a leader and an inspiration. And tactically he’s very astute and he has everything’’. Fletcher said.

SIDWELL IMPRESSES

Fulham’s Steve Sidwell has emerged into one of the important players at the club in the last few seasons. Even though the form of the club has not been good this campaign, he has been an instrumental player in the middle of the park along with Scott Parker. The 33-year-old joined only in the summer from Tottenham on a free transfer. He signed a three-year contract with the London club, which seems to be causing problems in the Sidwell camp. Sidwell is out of contract in the summer and he is keen to renew the deal with Fulham.

However, the club has offered him only a one-year contract, which has been rejected. The player has told through his representatives that he is looking at a two-year deal in order to put them level on terms with Parker. Due to the fact that he is much younger than the former England international, Sidwell feels that he will be worthy of this deal. Negotiations have certainly not ended and Fulham are expected to come with a new offer in the next few weeks. They would want to tie up the midfielder sooner rather than later.

He recently scored a wonder goal against Crystal Palace to help the team record only their third win of the season. The poor form has seen them dropping into the relegation zone. Even though they have won three matches up until now, a run of eight defeats meant that other teams around them have been picking points through the draws. Martin Jol’s future at the club has been thrown into doubt as a result of this poor form, but he has been sounding confident in recent weeks about getting a result before Christmas.

Former Manchester United assistant coach Rene Meulensteen has been brought in to work alongside Jol to further increase the rumours.

BACK IN THE MIX

Darren Fletcher’s bowel condition has left him out of the Manchester United’s playing fields since December of 2012 although things are getting better for the Scottish midfielder as he is active playing for the club’s Under-21 and even completed playing for 90 minutes as he played an entire match last month.
Even though he is active and being featured for the Under-21’s team, Moyes still believes that he still cannot play for the main squad as he needs to get completely fit and recovered from the condition he has been experiencing.
He told the Manchester United official website: “I don’t think Darren is quite ready yet.
“He has a bit to do in terms of more reserve games. It’s great to see him training regularly, that’s a big thing.
“He’s beginning to look like a footballer again, and that in itself is a real plus for him.”
Manchester United lost one of their most influential players of the midfield when Michael Carrick suffered from an Achilles injury on November which is starting to become a big problem for Moyes as it is becoming a position that the champions of the Premier League have been struggling most on in this season.
They are even expected to make a move for a number of midfielders as they hope it can be solved by next year. Fellaini was signed from Everton but he is not performing as once thought, Carrick is injured and the arrival of Fletcher can be a temporary solution to their main problems.
Darren Fletcher played in the Under-21’s team alongside Wilfried Zaha who has only made 1 appearance under the guidance of David Moyes. Zaha joined Manchester United earlier this year in January with a price tag of £15 million but he has barely made any impact in the team
