GERRARD WANTS DARREN FLETCHER

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has identified Darren Fletcher as one of his experienced targets this summer, as per reports. Since Stoke City have been relegated to the lower league, the player is looking to exit the club.

The 34-year old recently moved on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion to Stoke City. But with Stoke going down, Rangers have been reportedly to be on the chase for his signature.Ibrox see the player as an ideal player to boost their options due to his wealth of experience playing at a top level.

Gerrard has sanctioned the release of eight players while six players have been confirmed. With just a year on his deal with the Potters, Ranger fancy their chance of luring Fletcher to the Scottish Premiership.

Gary Rowett, the new boss at bet365 Stadium prefers a much younger squad so it is believed that the club would not stand in the way of the player when Rangers come knocking. Rowett is keen on helping the club back to the top flight as soon as possible, probably pulling a Newcastle United along the way. The manager could reportedly sack Geoff Cameron, Peter Crouch and Charlie Adam as well in a bid to revamp the side.

Rowett could sanction the bid for Brazilian star Josef de Souza. The player stars in Turkey for Fenerbahce but it keen on a move to the Premier League. West Brom agreed a deal with the Turk Super Lig side for £10.6 million last summer but Fenerbahce pulled out last minute when they got GrzegorzKrychowiak on a loan deal.

Watford are looking at signing De Souza, just as Wolverhampton Wanderers but West Brom remain interested in the deal for the 29-year old despite their relegation to the Championship. The player has just a year on his deal and he does not want to renew so the club is looking at making money from the deal this summer.
