There are reports in France that Manchester United are open to signing PSG star Marquinhos this summer.

The Brazil international is being chased by numerous top sides in Europe. The Red Devils would face stiff competition for his signature and even greater resistance from his employers.

Jose Mourinho wants a solid defence. He already has Eric Bailly but the Ivorian is injury-prone. There’s Marcus Rojo and Chris Smalling as well. The others are doubts as Mourinho is set to work on the team.

Marquinhos should partner Bailly in defence on the forthcoming season if things go to plan. Goal reports that PSG would not release the player even if they are offered €100 million. Adding Marquinhos would be a real boost to the United defence. They suffered in that regard this term and Mourinho wants a change.

West Brom defender Jonny Evans wants the club to dream big in light of their impressive form this term.

The former Manchester United player want the team to overthrow Premier League rivals Everton from the seventh spot and earn European football action next term.

West Brom have been in decent form, placing eight in the standings. With 13 games left this season, they hope to continue with their four-game unbeaten run to usurp the Toffees to seventh place.

“Everton are still four points ahead of us, we want to catch Everton, that’s the next aim. You’re always looking above you. West Ham are trying to catch us. We haven’t talked about specific targets. I know the manager will say we get to 40 points and work from there, exactly like Leicester City did last season,” Evans said.

Darren Fletcher issues warnings to Manchester United youngsters

Darren Fletcher, who currently plays for West Brom, is one of the former graduates of the Manchester United academy and knows it all about making it to the senior side.

With Louis van Gaal promoting several of the younger players to the senior side because of multiple injured players, Fletcher was keen to remind the youngsters that the path to the elite level of football is not easy.

He told the youngsters that they should not believe that they have already made it to the top level. There are still a lot to do before they are considered to be similar to players such as David Beckham and Paul Scholes. He encouraged them to keep working hard, to keep improving and to stay humble.

He believes that after you have won two or three Premier League titles that you can consider yourself as a great player. Fletcher has also revealed that there is more pressure in the bottom half of the table with teams fighting against relegation than with teams such as Manchester United fighting for the title.

Manchester United has a long history of promoting academy players to their first team, and this policy seems to continue whoever is the manager. Ryan Giggs was first to remind that to the new manager that might be coming in the future to replace Louis van Gaal.

Darren Fletcher’s career with Manchester United progressed

As Darren Fletcher’s career with Manchester United progressed, the Scottish midfielder was getting fewer and fewer playing time in Old Trafford. In the previous 3 seasons of Darren Fletcher, he was able to get less than 30 appearances and the player eventually decided to continue his career by making a move to another club where his chances on getting into the main team are higher.

On February of 2015, Fletcher signed for West Bromwich Albion on a free transfer and has even turned into the captain of the Premier League club.

Fletcher has so far made 7 appearances in his new club, West Bromwich Albion and the veteran midfielder stated that he feels better than ever now that he is able to make consistent appearances for his team after having left Manchester United and recovered from the ulcerative colitis which he suffered from some time ago.

“Since I’ve been back I’ve felt great, the first few matches you’re looking to get your match rhythm back but I really feel it’s there now. With every game I feel stronger and I’m loving every minute.Even after playing 90 minutes last weekend I felt I could go straight out and play again.” The Scottish player Darren Fletcher said as he revealed his satisfaction in performing regularly for a club.

Darren Fletcher may join West Ham United

Darren Fletcher has not managed to step it up since the arrival of Louis van Gaal and now the 30 year old Scottish midfielder is rumored to be on his way of joining West Ham United on a 3 and half year long deal where he would be earning around €75,000 each week.

Even though Fletcher is not a regular player for Louis van Gaal, the Dutch coach has stated that he remains being an important figure for the entire team and it will be a loss for the club but it’s something that happens in football: ‘’He’s my third captain so he is an important guy in the dressing room. I like him as a human being and a player. We shall miss him. But he has not played many times.  That is the main goal of a player and we have talked about that and he preferred to play therefore we have helped him.’’ Louis van Gaal said.
